E-Mail me with an address. I can send out a loaner MBP and you can clone or swap the hard drives and then send me the broken MBP and I can swap out the logic board and return it repaired and you can send the loaner back.

What is the big deal with them not accepting donations? Is is really a problem? I mean, seriously? If they don't want donations, then they don't want donations. Deal with it. This is why you buy the 3 year Apple protection plan. Who spends that kind of cash on a top of the line Mac (a year ago that is) and doesn't fork over the extra hundred bucks to not worry about anything breaking for 3 years. Rookie mistake. I dropped almost $4,000 on my Macbook Pro and you better believe I spent the extra $350 for the protection plan.
Anyways, first post says it all, someone has a board. End of story.

So (pumpkin) and the rest of the crew, just like to let you guys know that i am on vacation....i know this doesn't matter to you guys too much, BUT! i just got back from NH and drove into NY where i turned on my PowerBook G4 to check out your updates and see how everything was going...doesn't do ANYTHING! no chime no nothing, so i jumped on my freinds computer to troubleshoot and figured i'd check your site anyway...needless to say pumpkin i feel your pain :-(

My 17" mac book pro logic board needs replacing yet I'm 1 month out of warranty- I contacted apple support, was passed to a customer support person, and the will cover the costs as long as I haven't dropped it or something stupid.

HELP! I just went through the steps to jailbreak my 2G iPhone and install 2.0. During the final steps, after I put the phone in DFU mode, and then tried to restore I got an error message (1601 iphone cannot be restored). On the apple site it says to uninstall iTunes and reinstall. I did and I am still getting the message. What do I do?

This is my first comment on here. I'm a IT consultant and I'm a very BIG BIG fan of the dev team. I honestly think they're one of the most intelligent folks on the face of the planet right now. Hacking the iphone 3G to be used on any network to me would be genius as the greedy sods at Apple believe that this is an impossible feat. Unfortunately for them I believe the dev team are at the verge of making history. I even believe the dev team will one day be able to create a custom operating system of their own for the iphone. That would be awesome...lol

I am an apple tech. A few idea. 1 get him to ring apple direct and say how great the macbook has been and that you cant believe that the logic board died right after the apple care stoped. Sometimes they will give you a new part free. If you need any more help I get parts at cost.

We won't accept donations directly or indirectly, we just think the whole donations thing is a hassle, it causes lots of problems and we want an easy life. Besides, the internet breeds scammers and crooks and we wouldn't want people to paypal someone who they didn't know, so for this reason we'd ask you didn't do this. Thanks for the offer and it really shows us that you care, the thought and offer was enough to make us feel warm and fuzzy.

Seriously, these guys are doing their thing, and that's to the benefit of us all. But there are people out there who will use donations as a wedge to put a wrench in the works.

The Macbook Pro 2.4GHz was introduced in June 2007. How can it be out of Apple Care warranty already? Because of the Nvidia graphics card mess Apple usually replaces the logic board even though it's past the 1 year warranty. That is why I always get an Apple Care for Apple portables. I hope you get the Macbook fixed somehow.

Mhhh What I would do: Borrow an inexpensive PC (anything higher than an AMD A64 would do) and install OSX on it. It would work temporarely. (at least for me it worked). HE can otherwise assemble a core2 duo for 500$ and do the same thing. I would wait for the new macbooks before buying a new Mac or notebook at this time... ;) Sorry cannot help directly ;)

I have noticed that there are many sites, like for example HackThatPhone, and other that accept donations and they exist because of you guys. Its funny: As soon as you post anything new they post it in their sites. as an example and think that the new MacBook should come from sites that accept donations. Is not that I dont agree, I think they are very usefull to the comunity because they explain things for dummies, but the LEAST they can do is send you a couple of MacBooks to you guys! Please make them 17' Ed from Argentina! Love you guys!
