Keep these words in mind "shiny new stuff"... installer isn't shiny at all, just a alternative to cydia still a kind of "beta stage". Also installer could be easily added as a package to the custom IPSW file. The release without Installer was already finished yesterday. And now the delay of releasing it and just the words "It is sparkling!" with a smilie. For me it sounds like they found a way to unlock 3G baseband and will add it asap.

are you aware of what you need to do for t-mobile to work? there are a couple of things. according to t-mobile , the only plan that will work with an unlocked iphone as far as data is the blackberry plan. The apn is : wap.voicestram.com user name and password are both guest. then reboot. Good luck

Zibri relased a link that allows you to download an XML file contain lots of direct links to Iphone, itouch, ipod etc... Contains various version numbers for each device.

Well, I have a 3G iPhone, and didn't consider jailbreaking it until *after* I had upgraded to 2.0.1, from a legit 2.0. I've been collecting IPAs for the last few days, and have to go to work, where I'd love to kill time playing with new apps, but won't be able to because work starts in 30 min, and the update won't be ready in time. That's why I've been antsy... Not all of us are sitting with jailbroken phones.
But I also haven't been posting like crazy for them to hurry up, and I very much agree with you, and gave you +1 points for a good point!

And this url unfortunately doesnt contain any 2.0.2 info, so its not available yet (in fact it only contains pwnagetool 1 info, so maybe something is screwed with the update system atm).

p.s. if u cant wait for 2.0.1 FW just update through itunes (phone will remain unlocked and you jailbreak/cydia), check it out and when pwnage is released do a restore with new custom firmware and cydia. Personally , i will not install installer.

You should reconsider your versioning in the near future. It's a nice little joke that it stays .01 version number ahead of apples software, but it looks like thats just coincidence since PwnageTool 2.0.1 was a quickfix, not really planned.
Anyways, the popularity of Pwnage tool makes it impossible to google information about the 2.0.1 iPod/iPhone firmware, such as trying to find an ispw to download...

NONE of the releases of PwnageTool are "sparkling". I have 2.0 on my computer and ask it to check for updates, and it says I'm up-to-date, which is an outright LIE. Just wanted to make you guys aware that Sparkle is totally busted on your tool.

I really appreciate the status update, otherwise I likely would not have gotten any sleep and instead spent the night hitting cmd-R (F5 == spaces on my computer). But it would have been nice if you hadn't left everyone in the dark for a few hours. A simple edit to say something along the lines of "Whoops! Just found a huge error, more info will follow later tonight, don't expect pwnage to be out right away" would have been wonderful. I'm not asking for an instantaneous release right now for some self-righteous reason (although I likely will not use installer very much), but rather that releases on the blog aren't in partial code and don't leave the community eagerly refreshing the page.
Overall though, thanks for waiting. Having software that works well is something to be appreciated.
P.S. Did you try using the "Open with Rosetta" checkbox on the intel iMac? That could work as a really quick (yet dirty) fix while a full solution is tested.

i updated to the new pwanage tool and now i get a steve jobs logo. i tired to restore my iphone 1gen 16g to the old pwange tool and also to the original Apple firm ware and i still get the same logo. Keep these words in mind "shiny new stuff"... installer isn't shiny at all, just a alternative to cydia still a kind of "beta stage". Also installer could be easily added as a package to the custom IPSW file. The release without Installer was already finished yesterday. And now the delay of releasing it and just the words "It is sparkling!" with a smilie. For me it sounds like they found a way to unlock 3G baseband and will add it asap.

P.S. Did you try using the "Open with Rosetta" checkbox on the intel iMac? That could work as a really quick (yet dirty) fix while a full solution is tested.
