Hey can i have a little help in here? I have a brand new Iphone 3g running in version 2.1, what soft do i have to have, to do the jailbreak? what happen if i have itunes 8? can you help me with that please.. i read a lot of this but i need to be pretty sure

I spent the last 3 days learning all I could about jailbreaking my pristine new 3G. I decided to use pwnage 2.1 to jailbreak my 3G running ver2.1 of Apples firmware. The jailbreak went great, just REMEMBER to OPTION CLICK on the RESTORE button in iTunes at the very end of the process. I can now run NetShare and use the phone as a wireless modem. Unreal...just think of all the possibilities! Anyway, I can now load ANY program I want on the phone AND I figured out how to do it right from iTunes!!! Now the part I need HELP with: I CAN NOT ssh into the freakin phone! I can do anything else, but no ssh for me

I know the network is working (a whole other learning process...ask me) because I can surf and download with no problem. When I use Terminal to ssh into the phone, this is what I get:

I enter the correct password (alpine) and then I get the above. I have no earthly idea what the correct response is for that prompt

Can ANYONE PLEASE tell me what to do to ssh into my phone???

hey dudes, some help here please, i am new to this jailbreak thing, so i got an iphone 1gen. its with was activated with a ATT pay as you go account. now it has 2.1 firmware, what do i need to do do get this to work with a T-MOBILE SIM CARD, here in USA.

i have restored my phone to factory settings and then i follow steps for PWNAGE TOOLS and QUICKPWN.....on pwnage tools i wait for it to open itunes so i get an error then i close it and open it again and get the same error so then i unplug my phone and hold onto home yet nothing happens so then i hold power and home....restarts then try to use the custom firmware nothing.

quickpwn at step 8 just stays in a blank progress bar I am currently in that state and have been waiting for about 10 minutes now and i have no response.

IF YOU COULD HELP THAT WOULD BE GREAT...i HAVE BEEN TRYING DIFFERENT WAYS FOR TWO DAYS NOW!

Hello.. Been trying to jailbreak my iphone 3G version 2.1. I have downloaded Quickpwn 2.1 and the restore file. I have read and watched numerous tutorials for doing the process. When I launched Quickpawn it gets stuck at the first window (Device Detection). It just stays there and nothing happens. I know my computer sees the phone as it shows up under My Computer.

I have installed .NET files, downloaded different QuickPwns, I have rebooted computer and also tried a different computer. I restored my iphone again but I'm unabled to get passed this first screen.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm in the same situation as aminahoora. How can I Jealbreak my ipod touch 2nd Gen? I tried using Pwnage Tool and downloaded the 2.1.1 firmware and it said "Wrong Firmware Bundle Selected"
I'm guessing that's because it's Pwnage Tool 2.1 not 2.1.1 right? What'd happen if I just got the 2.1 firmware and tried to downgrade my ipod touch (2nd gen) with the jailbreak. Pleeeeease help me! I can't keep buying apps! They cost too much! =P

I have just completed the unlock process with out a problem, and at the end I was told to go to Itunes, but once there I was told by Itunes if I wanted to restore my iphone, and I did so, every thing looks the same as it was before, is the phone already unlocked or do I have to have a pineapple icon on my iphone

Got through the bootload issue but stuck with a new one! Pwnage ran smooth till the end. But after, i put the new sim that i intend to use, annd it went into emergency mode???
{Gathering it never unlocked (did jailbreak though)}

Can anyone PLEASE explain Why pwnage tool Just Refuses to accept Bootload files. I'v tried suggestions from help forums, re-downloaded pwnage, anything i can think of but it doesn't BUDGE!!!!

Keep up the good work. Although I like all things Mac, I would swap my iphone 3g for a Blackberry tomorrow if it wasn't for your hacks. I am amazed that Apple get away with what Microsoft clearly haven't. Why shouldn't I be able to use any phone I choose to purchase on any network and install any programme I like? The phone networks that Iphone officially supports have created special tariffs that are much higher for the iphone with no speed increase. If I couldn't unlock and hack my phone I'd be paying through the nose for something anyone without an iphone can get cheaper!

Pwnage tool and Quipwn don't work with the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros. They can't seem to recognize an iPhone in DFU mode properly, and iTunes returns an error 2001. Everyone is reporting this. Are you guys working on a fix for this?
