The question is if it's possible to upgrade it to 02.11.07 baseband @ all? Does it make it faster?
Also if I could pls get a small explanation on wat mobile terminal for my iPhone is used for? Once I have plugged it with iTunes I have updated to 2.2 :( (I was dummy enough I didn't read anything about the hassle of PWN...etc)
So now can you tell me if there's any chance to have this one unlocked, and have the GPS enabled again.

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

truth!

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

do you have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed? if not, try first installing the 2.5 one and then check QuickPwn again. Let it officially activate through your carrier.
Again - only do this if you are not using a SIM proxy.

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

You need to read some guides. Check out iclarified or thebigboss.org. You will find what you need. I did the exact procedure as well. You don't need 2.1 ipsw. PwnageTool (NOT QuickPwn) uses the 2.2 and simply does not do the baseband update - leaves the current one on the device.

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

It sounds like you are not connected to any network. As the company is based in the UK I should have been the first to recieve it - but its now 03/12/08 and have not recieved anything!!!

They will not reply to your e-mails and whenever you call the support team your call just get forwared to a voicemail. I advise nobody to purchase through this website and if you have already try and get a refund through paypal or your credit card company!

Also take a look at this link: http://www.hi-tech-it.com/g...

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

No prob man,
Well don't read other websites for this info go straight to the source which this site. Engadgetmobile is correct tho. Basically if you want soft-unlock in the future you have to use PwnageTool if you dont (which I thought was your case since you have AT&T) then you can use QuickPwn.
But let me get this straight: you have AT&T correct? Have you upgraded to 2.2 already through iTunes? Because if you did you upgraded you baseband to 2.2 as well and that eliminates your soft-unlock chances for the future. Now if you havent upgraded yet then go ahead and use PwnageTool2.2 and it will upgrade the firmware w/o the baseband AND jailbrake it so you will be able to soft unlock your phone in the future. As you can see it all depends where you stand with your phone, company, firmware version, etc. For example I use proxy sim with T-Mobile - it works perfectly but if I will upgrade to official iTunes 2.2 firmware I would be screwed as it renders proxy sims unusable.

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

Forgot to mention no chips, no mods, as pure as the day it came out of apple's factory!

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

Its an A1241 16GB 3G

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

04.05.04 is for a 2G baseband and 02.11.07 is for a 3G baseband. If it did means its been jailbroken. The 3G cannot be software unlocked at this time. The only way you can unlock it is with SIM proxies/emulators (TurboSIM RebelSIM, YesSIM). If you did not have to use a SIM proxy with your foreign SIM, ten chances are its factory unlocked. If it is factory unlocked then you can just restore your iPhone through iTunes.

As for Installer, I wouldn't use it as its still buggy. It froze me 2G when I updated Installer. Use Cydia instead. There are much more software available on Cydia and its way more stable.

Re: The man from DelMonte - He say Yes!

Alex thanks for the reply...it seems they are few and far between for some. One last thing that I saw was on engadget mobile the dev tech team warns "if you have any interest in unlocking your iPhone 3G in the near future, only use PwnageTool, not the more painless QuickPwn. WITH GREAT SUCCESS. I stayed at version 2.1 with the baseband still at 2.11.07. This is sweet stuff and everything seems to work just fine. I think I will keep the phone version right here until the DevTeam gets the 2.2 Baseband stuff workin. Thanks a bunch guys.
